Poised on the edge of the unknown the USS Columbus and her crew are sent on a mission of discovery. Starbase 11, orbiting the colony planet Aquil, is the home base, from there the Columbus will ship out pushing the lines of the federation, as we take more steps in to the vastness that is the universe. With Missions surrounding the undiscovered, and peoples with strange new cultures, we will encounter the new, and encounter the old and protect the our way of life.
The USS Columbus is a large ship with room for everyone and everything, join Captain Andrews and her crew today! Joining the Captain is Lieutenant Commander Kensi Marquez, a sharp as nails and no nonsense First Officer to keep the crew in order. Together they will lead the crew into the future.

First off, we will start with the not so great news.. Sadly at this time Lt Blake, Chief Ops has opted to leave the simm due to real life problems. We wish him all the best and hope that he returns to us soon.
Now for a positive note, please welcome Brett to the simm. Brett will be playing LtCmdr Peter Funkhouser, Chief Flight Control Officer. Welcome to the Columbus Commander.

Do you enjoy law? Want to help ensure a safe, enjoyable simming
environment for HF members? Always believed in 'Justice for all'?
Request an application to be Horizon Fleet's JAG Director today!
In order to be considered for JAG Director, you need to have an active
character in Horizon Fleet, request a JAG Director application from Vice
Admiral Livian by March 15, 2010, and submit it by March 20th (sooner if
possible).
JAG Director responsibilities include:
-Ensure Horizon Fleet policies are up-to-date
-Hear cases per the Justice Code
-Counsel Fleet members on potential JAG issues and on their rights
-Accept and Train JAG Officers as needed
-Ensure HF policies are followed and that new proposals do not violate
current policies
-Member of Fleet Council
-Monthly report
If you would like the opportunity to ensure justice for all Fleet
members, please e-mail Vice Admiral Kailani Livian at
dpa[at]horizonfleet .net by March 15, 2010 to request an application.

Captain Andrews added a chat room to the website for the convenience of our crew in attempts to get to know one another. We cannot stress enough how we would love to be able to speak to our crewmembers, out of character and out of posting.
We ask that you visit the chat room when you are able. Almost any any given time, either Captain Andrews, or myself, will be present in the room. I am always on, via my personal phone as I love it too much to stay disconnected. My user handle is always one of these names, Miko, MikoSan or EspressoMorning. Captain Andrews can be found in the IRC as Jakers.
In addition, I ask that each crewmember email us at columbus.command(at)gmail(dot)com with your availability to be able to participate in chat room discussion and possibly IRC roleplaying. We would very much like to try to have a designated time for crew gathering to discuss Columbus business and generally have fun with one another.
Please email Captain Andrews and I at the mentioned address by the end of this week with your availability to chat, or simply to comment that you are unable to do so.
